- 12-4-2011
Complete Childcare compromises 11 nurseries across Berkshire and Oxon of which one is Stepping Stones Day Nursery. Recently awarded with OUTSTANDING in their Ofsted inspection, the team cares for children between 3 months to 5 years implementing all areas of the EYFS and the children’s individual and day to day routines. The nursery is registered for 34 children and presently has 58 children on roll. Situated in a converted residential house in Finchampstead from which” the children eagerly access a superior outside environment”.
Throughout the day the inspector spent time between the 2 age groups the 0-2’s and 2-5’s,observing the practices and talking to the staff about their routines and the children’s learning and development. In the report the inspector said “children thrive in a setting where they play a dynamic role and their individual needs are highly valued. A dedicated staff team show commitment to promoting the unique child as they accurately recognise their interests and identify the next steps in their learning, working exceptionally well with parents. Ensuring a highly successful setting where children make exceptional progress”
The inspector also spoke to some of the parents where she found that partnership with parents is excellent. All parents spoken to at the inspection could not praise the nursery enough stating ”the staff go out of their way to meet my child’s needs”, ”nothing is too much trouble”, ”they are fully flexible around my working pattern to meet my needs”.
The inspiring leadership and management team successfully motivate and drive further improvements to ensure the best possible outcomes for the children.
The manager Kirsty Cordery who has worked at the setting since January 2009 is thrilled with the outcome of the inspection and says all her and the work of the team has been recognised at last.
Complete Childcare’s other 10 nurseries continue to provide high quality care for children.
“This is a remarkable achievement for Stepping Stones and we are delighted with the result. We extend our congratulations to Kirsty and the team. It is our endeavour to ensure that this quality is sustained throughout all of the nurseries, a culture of complacency is not welcomed here, we must ensure we continue to strive for improvements in order that we meet the needs of our families exactly and at our core, is the all round development and well-being of the little ones we care for.” - Leah Yeoman, Head of Compliance & Standards
